Questions and explanations — including any written by AI — can be wrong or out of date. Never use it to make a decision about a real patient, and always check anything that matters against your course material and current clinical guidance.
Agreeing to these terms
By creating an account or using Resurface you agree to what is on this page. If you do not, please do not use the service. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute.
What Resurface is
A question bank with spaced repetition, aimed at UK medical students. It serves multiple-choice questions, schedules them for review, tracks your progress, and can generate additional questions from study material you provide.
It is a study tool. It is not a substitute for your curriculum, your lectures, your textbooks, or your clinical teachers, and it has no affiliation with any medical school, examining body, or the GMC.
Accuracy, and its limits
Questions are written and reviewed by people, and can contain mistakes. Questions produced by Generate are written by an AI model and arenot reviewed by us before you see them — they can be confidently, plausibly wrong. Medicine also changes; an explanation that was correct when written may not be now.
We make no promise that the content is accurate, complete, or current. If you spot an error, please tell us — it helps everyone using the bank.
Your account
- Give a real email address, and keep your password to yourself.
- One account per person. You are responsible for what happens under yours.
- Tell us promptly athello@tryresurface.com if you think someone else has access to it.
- You can delete your account whenever you like.
Using it fairly
Please do not:
- Copy the question bank out in bulk, whether by hand, by script, or by scraping, or republish it anywhere.
- Share your account, or sell access to it.
- Paste anything into Generate that identifies a real patient, or anything you are not allowed to share.
- Upload material that infringes someone else's copyright — including textbooks and past papers you do not have the right to reproduce.
- Attack the service, probe it for weaknesses without asking us first, or try to reach other people's data.
- Use it to cheat in an exam or assessment.
If you break these terms we may suspend or remove your account. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will warn you first.
Who owns what
The question bank, the explanations, the software, the name and the design belong to Resurface. Your account gives you a personal, non-transferable right to use them for your own study, and nothing more.
Material you paste into Generate stays yours. You give us permission to process it so we can produce questions for you, and for no other purpose — we do not use it to train models and we do not add it to the public bank. Questions generated for you are stored against your account and are yours to use for your own study.
Availability
Resurface is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind. We do not promise it will be available at any particular moment, that it will be free of bugs, or that your data can never be lost — so if something matters to you a great deal, do not let this be the only place it exists.
We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the service. If we are shutting it down altogether, we will give reasonable notice and a way to export your data first.
Cost
Resurface is currently free to use. If that changes we will say so clearly in advance, and you will never be charged without agreeing to it first.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for exam results, academic outcomes, lost study time, lost data, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Resurface.
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are using Resurface as a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights we will tell you in the app before it takes effect, rather than relying on you to re-read this page.
